1. Scope

These Terms and Conditions apply to the use of the close2myheart dating platform in the browser and in the apps for Android and iPhone. The provider is close2myheart GmbH (see Imprint).

2. Membership and minimum age

Use is permitted only for people aged 18 or over. By registering you confirm that you are an adult and that your information is true. Each person may only have one account. Accounts are not transferable.

3. Registration and verification

After registering you must confirm your email address within 8 hours; otherwise the account is deleted automatically. Your profile photo is reviewed before it is published. We may reject profiles, photos and content that violate these terms.

4. Services, subscriptions and Coins

Basic use is free. Additional features are available through paid subscriptions; the current features and prices are shown before purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically for the selected term unless cancelled in your account settings before the end of the term. After cancellation, the subscription remains active until the end of the paid period.

Coins are a virtual currency within the platform. They can be bought or earned by completing your profile, have no monetary value, are non-transferable and cannot be paid out. Payments are processed via PayPal.

5. Right of withdrawal

Consumers have a statutory right of withdrawal. The details are set out in the withdrawal notice shown to you before you enter into a contract.

6. Rules of conduct

Treat other members with respect. In particular, the following are not allowed: false identities and fake profiles; harassment, threats, hate speech and discrimination; sharing content without the consent of the people shown; any content relating to minors; commercial advertising, spam and scams, including requests for money; and unlawful content of any kind.

7. Reports, moderation and Karma

Members can report profiles and content. We review reports and may remove content and suspend or permanently block accounts. The Karma score is calculated automatically from interactions in the community and is not adjusted manually.

8. Termination and deletion

You can delete your account at any time. It is first deactivated for 14 days; if you log in during this period, the deletion is cancelled. After that, all data, chats and photos are deleted permanently. We may terminate an account without notice in the event of serious violations of these terms.

9. Liability

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence and for injury to life, body or health. In cases of slight negligence we are only liable for breaches of essential contractual obligations, limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this type of contract. We are not liable for the conduct of other members, in particular at in-person meetings.

10. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms with effect for the future. We will inform you of material changes in good time by email or in the app.

11. Final provisions

The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence remain unaffected. If any provision is invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions is not affected.
