Meeting someone new: a simple safety checklist

Six quick checks before you meet someone from the app in person.

Most first meetings go well. These checks make sure yours does too.

  1. Look at the stars. Check which verification stars the profile has.
  2. Chat first. A few days of conversation tell you a lot.
  3. Choose a public place. A cafe or restaurant is ideal.
  4. Tell someone you trust. Share where you are going and when you will be back.
  5. Arrange your own way home. Stay independent.
  6. Trust your instincts. If something feels wrong, leave and report the profile.
