Trust & safety

Your safety comes first

Dating should feel exciting, not risky. That is why verification, moderation and privacy are built into every part of close2myheart.

Strictly 18+

Your date of birth is checked at registration and anyone under 18 is rejected. Our team also reviews your profile photo before it is published.

Verified email

Every account must confirm its email address. Unverified accounts are deleted automatically after 8 hours.

Media review

Photos, audio and video can be reviewed by our moderation team before they become visible to others.

Report & block

Report a profile or message in a few taps. Every complaint is reviewed and affects the Karma of the person reported.

Friends-only chat

Nobody can flood your inbox: a chat only opens once you have accepted a friend request.

Stealth mode

Appear offline whenever you like, and keep your location off the map unless you choose to share it.

People review every report

Real members of our team look at every report and every group before anything is decided.

Child safety standards

Our published standards explain how we keep minors out and how to reach us.

Verification stars

Know who you are talking to

Look out for the stars on every profile.

Level 1 · Bronze

Email verified

The member has confirmed their email address through our activation link.

Level 2 · Silver

Complete profile

Awarded for a fully completed profile - so others know exactly who they are talking to.

Level 3 · Gold

Photo verified

The member has a verified photo that matches their profile name, reviewed by the close2myheart team.

Karma

A community that rewards respect

Karma is calculated automatically from how members interact. Respectful people rise, people who receive complaints fall - and nobody, not even our team, can change a score by hand.

Data protection

Your private data stays private

Your real name, address, phone number and date of birth are used only for billing and identity checks by authorised staff - never shown on your profile.

  • Processed in line with the GDPR
  • Never sold or passed on to third parties
  • Payments via PayPal, Google Play and Apple Pay - we never store financial data
  • Delete your account and all data at any time

Meeting in person

Tips for a safe first date

  1. Get to know each other first. Chat for a while before you meet.
  2. Meet in a public place. A cafe, bar or restaurant is ideal for a first meeting.
  3. Tell someone you trust. Share where you are going and when you expect to be back.
  4. Organise your own transport. Stay independent so you can leave whenever you want.
  5. Never send money. No matter how convincing the story - report anyone who asks.
  6. Trust your instincts. If something feels wrong, leave and report the profile.

In an emergency, always call the local emergency number (112 in the EU).
